Abstract
Unfortunately, gender bias is almost reflected in many books and usually it is in favor of men. In the current study, the newly published book of the grade one of junior schools was studied for the depictions of gender bias through textbooks and pictures. The results revealed that visual appearance of males was more frequent than females. The result also indicates that the number of males' specific pronouns and the diversity of roles attributed to them were more than females; while the numbers of utterances produced by females were more. The results indicate the occurrence of gender bias in the pictures and textbooks.
